How to reach us
The Structural Engineering Department is located in the southern block of the Leonardo campus (building no. 5 in the following map).
Leonardo da Vinci square is located in "Citta' Studi", easily reachable from the airports and the train stations of Milano.
By plane
From Malpensa AirportFrom the Airport take the train Malpensa Express to Cadorna Station FN. Here, take the Metropolitana Line 2 (green) to Gessate or Cologno Nord or Cascina Gobba, and exit at the PIOLA stop. Reach the left exit and follow via d'Ovidio to the intersection with via Spinoza. Make a left turn to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci. From the main gate of the Politecnico, make a right turn and reach the second building on the left.
Alternately you can take the shuttle bus to the Central Station and from here continue by Metropolitana Line 2 like above.
From Linate Airport
Take the bus no. 73 to San Babila square. At the headstop take the
Metropolitana Line 1 (red) to Sesto FS. At the LORETO stop switch to the
Metropolitana Line 2 (green) to Gessate or Cologno Nord or Cascina Gobba and
exit at the PIOLA stop. Take the left exit and follow via d'Ovidio to the
intersection with via Spinoza. Make a left turn to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci.
From the main gate of the Politecnico, make a right turn and reach the second
building on the left.
By train
From Centrale FS, Garibaldi FS, Cadorna FN, Porta Genova FS
Take the Metropolitana Line 2 (Green) to Gessate or Cologno Nord or Cascina Gobba,
and exit at the PIOLA stop. Take the left exit and follow via d'Ovidio to the
intersection with via Spinoza. Make a left turn to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci.
From the main gate of the Politecnico, make a right turn and reach the second
building on the left.
From Lambrate FS
Take the Metropolitana Line 2 (Green) to Abbiategrasso, and exit at the PIOLA
stop. Take the left exit and follow via d'Ovidio to the intersection with via
Spinoza. Make a left turn to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci. From the main gate of the Politecnico,
make a right turn and reach the second building on the left.
By car
From outside Milano, the easiest way for reaching DIS by car is:- Follow the Tangenziale Est (A51) and take the Lambrate exit; follow indications to the Centre of Town up to the underpass below the Lambrate train station; continue straight in via Porpora.
- At the third traffic signal make a left turn to via Teodosio;
- Continue straight to via Ponzio and at the fourth traffic signal make a right turn in via Celoria;
- Continue straight for 100 m to 32, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci.
- The access to the campus at the main gate is reserved to employees.
